Sunflower Mission Workcamp 2010 Children’s Reflections

Thank you to everyone for touching my children’s lives...

Why, hello! I didn’t think I’d be able to write another entry...but thanks to the gracious generosity of the SM family, here I am again. Before I sign off from the SM Work Camp 2010 blogging world, I just have to say...

"Keep doing what you’re doing"

It’s been a long hiatus from the Sunflower Blog-o-sphere [two years to be exact] but I’m back! I remember my first SM work camp in 2008 fondly -- holla 2008! My fellow work camp mates have been up to a lot, their lives are unfolding beautifully. Major word of congratulations to my former roomie Quyen Ma on her wedding!

This really IS Ai..NOT Dr. Quynh!!

Ahh...yes, the last entry was a bit cheesy...

And Flo - Velveeta is not cheese. Cheese product = not real cheese..

Okay, so yesterday was SUPER fun. Some people didn't sleep well, others did. -Shrugs-

We started working again...until it started raining! Ah, darnit, right? Rain? NO!!!! We put on those "raincoats" and started playing in the rain! SOOO MUCH FUNNNNNN. The children just stood there watching 4 weirdo "grown-ups" playing in the rain...until it stopped raining and they started attacking me splashing puddles. =(

Then the work continued...sort of. hehe.

Second day at Lang Chim

This is my third day. Well second day and third night.

I arrived in SG late three nights ago and my uncle picked me up. We went to eat and I ended up staying with him. For this reason, I did not meet the Team until the next morning at the Hotel. I learned later, Jimmy, my room mate, woke up every few hours and informed Anh Tuan every so often that I have yet arrived. I have a very well concerned room mate. May be too concerned....:)

Another sleepless night results in FIRST BLOG ENTRY!!

Although we've only been on this trip 3-4 days now, I've already labeled "Sleeplessness" as a common theme. Apparently, waking up several times a night has been common among the workcamp members, myself an unfortunate victim.

Ahh, Sunflower workcamp. Here goes: [DISCLAIMER: might be a tad cheesy]

I fell in love with Vietnam all over again on our way to Long Xuyen - everything about that day indicated "VIETNAM." Eating fruit on the bus, playing cards [13], crossing a monkey bridge, eating more fruit, riding in a canoe, wearing a leaf hat - it was just so...refreshing.
